Hit in 18 Scorpii
SETI Net, SETI Net Forums
The SETI Net alarm came on this morning shortly after midnight and started recording. The first JPG shows that three or four carriers came on and then went back off about 1 minute later.
You can view the carriers and download the WAV file for further analysis if you wish.
In the Archives 18 Scorpii is HIP 79672 one of the HabStars. You can read my notes on the observation there.
Regards..... Jim

Does this make sense to any of you out there? The author is touted as being a 'deep thinker' but what he thinks, in this article at least, is superficial at best. For example; what if the Great Filter is a billion year wide?
But I hope that our Mars probes discover nothing. It would be good news if we find Mars to be sterile. Dead rocks and lifeless sands would lift my spirit.

SETI Net Back to see and old friend
SETI Net, and SETI Net Forums
This morning I'm going back to see an Old friend "WOW" for a good long listen to his story.
As you know the WOW area has been examined by many SETI stations for several years now and I visit it the way you would make a trip to see someone from the past. A way to wish him well and to see how he is doing. Not a lot of expectations for something new but you can never tell.
WOW will be 'up' for most of the next few months early in the morning so I'll let the station idle here with long integration times and fixed receiver frequency. The only movement from SETI Net will be the slow grinding of gears as the antenna keeps it ears pointed to WOW.
Regards....... Jim
